Q?

When is the Rodeo?

A.

The Bill Hargreaves Fishing Rodeo is held annually on Father’s Day weekend. It starts with a captain’s meeting the Thursday before. Fishing begins at 12:01 AM Friday morning and continues through Saturday. You have to be at the scales, in line by 8:00 PM Saturday, in order to weigh your fish. A fish fry is held Sunday at noon, followed by the awards ceremony at 2:00.

Q?

Is there a benefit for weighing my fish each day. What if I’ve already weighed the same type and I think the first one is bigger?

A.

There is a drawing on Friday and Saturday for a species of fish. If your fish is the largest FOR THAT DAY, you get $50 (in addition to any other prizes that fish may be eligible for). So, your fish may not win the tournament, but it could win the daily prize. Wise anglers weigh their fish each day!

Q?

Are there food and drinks at the weigh in?

A.

YES! The Grand Lagoon Yacht Club has a restaurant and bar. Enjoy a great meal and drinks on our deck after you weigh your fish.
